Abstract:Research Shows Auckland’s Not Ready to Get Thru. New research out today has found that Auckland, or more precisely Aucklanders are the least prepared in the country for a natural disaster. The results, from a Colmar Brunton report into the effectiveness of the national Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management’s ‘Get Ready, Get Thru’ advertising campaign, showed Auckland was below the national average in all eight measures used to detect how ready a region is for an emergency.

Abstract:Movement is still continuing to build up pressure behind the rock face of Turei Hill, but it is unclear when a major landslip will happen. Manukau City Council Economic Director Rick Walden says that although movement isn’t as big as previously the danger is still high.

Abstract:People’s lives have been affected across the Auckland region following over a week of heavy rain and gale force winds which caused damage to roads and property. Roads have been blocked due to slips and flooding causing motorists to either detour or change their travel plans.
